Influence | Christine Yun

Here at Lux, we love to discover what makes you tick. For Christine Yun, it’s fashion! She developed an interest in fashion at a very young age and has propelled herself as a fashion influencer through her creative and versatile looks. Her style is a modern take on boho chic. It’s fun, adventurous, and inspired. But we were curious as to what influences her style. We asked her these four questions. Check out Christine’s responses to see just what keeps her inspired.

Think about the 80/20 rule; if you get 80% of your impact from 20% of what you do, what is that 20% for you as it pertains to developing and expressing your personal style?

That 20% comes when I travel. I don’t travel as often as I’d like since I work full-time, but when I travel I take full advantage of my free time, dress for the destination, and enjoy creating quality content. I especially love traveling to beachy and hot weather destinations since I love dressing for the summer. The freedom, creativity, new experiences, and beautiful surroundings bring me joy and makes my outfits come to life.

What about discovering new styles to incorporate into your look and style?

I love being one of the first ones to wear new trends and am always on the lookout for unique pieces. This is partly because I shop so much that I like seeing what’s new, and because wearing new trends makes me feel confident. Incorporating my own style into trends also allows me to show others how they can confidently and comfortably wear a trend too. Thus, I am an avid fan of new styles and highly encourage you to constantly try new styles!

How do you think Northern California has influenced your style and design aesthetic?

Northern California has grown my love for dressing for the heat while staying casual and comfortable. I enjoy wearing effortless pieces that look fashionable because of how the entire outfit is styled together. My idea of a perfect outfit consists of a playful blouse, some killer accessories, a pair of denim shorts or skinny jeans and block heeled sandals.

Who do you consider the icons in the fashion & design industry?

Anna Wintour because she is a fashion visionary and has such a strong presence in the fashion industry. My other personal fashion icon is Olivia Palermo because she’s always experimenting with different styles, is usually the first to try new trends, and manages to make everything look amazing and unique to herself.
